Morocco’s Office National de l’Électricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE), the country’s state-owned electricity and water utility, has commissioned a 400 kV EHV transmission line linking the Chemaia substation near Youssoufia with the Médiouna substation on the outskirts of Casablanca.The project forms part of ONEE’s Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (Escom), Malawi’s state-owned electricity utility, has launched a USD6.3 million project to replace ageing wooden transmission poles with prestressed concrete poles on two key transmission lines, to improve grid reliability and reduce power outages.
