Alternergy Holdings Corporation, a Philippine renewable energy company, has energised the 500 kV transmission facilities for its 128 MW Tanay wind project, marking a key milestone towards the start of commercial operations.
The energisation covers the project’s 500 kV substation in Barangay San Andres, Tanay, and the associated 1-km, 500 kV transmission facilities, which will connect the wind farm to National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’ (NGCP’s) existing 500 kV San Jose–Tayabas transmission line and enable the delivery of renewable energy to the Luzon grid. The milestone signals the project’s readiness for integrated testing, and the commencement of pre-commissioning activities ahead of commercial operations and revenue generation. Tanay is the first wind project to be energised under the Philippines DOE’s Green Energy Auction Program II.
