Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), the country’s state-owned power utility, has commissioned the 220 kV Markichowk Bharatpur transmission line, strengthening the national transmission network and improving the reliability of electricity supply across central and western Nepal.
The project, being implemented under the 220 kV Marsyangdi Corridor Transmission Line Project (the border project), comprised a 67-km double-circuit (D/C) transmission line connecting the New Marsyangdi substation at Markichowk in Aanbukhaireni rural municipality, Tanahun district, to the New Bharatpur substation at Aanptari in Bharatpur metropolitan city, Chitwan district.
