Vikran Engineering Limited has secured a Rs 1.21 billion order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for the 400 kV GIS Substation Package SS-147 through domestic competitive bidding. The order covers the design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of gas insulated switchgear (GIS) equipment.
The project involves augmentation of transformation capacity at three POWERGRID substations – the 400/220 kV Magarwada GIS Substation in Dadra & Nagar Haveli, the 765/400/220 kV Vadnagar GIS Substation in Gujarat, and the 400/220 kV Rajgarh Substation in Madhya Pradesh. The works are expected to strengthen inter-regional power transmission, improve grid reliability, and enhance power evacuation capacity.
