The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) to support the development of a clean, reliable and affordable electricity sector in India.
Under the partnership, the two organisations will collaborate on research, policy development and the design of next-generation power market mechanisms. The MoU focuses on developing evidence-based energy and flexibility procurement mechanisms and co-developing offtake contracts. Further, it will also focus on scaling up contracts for difference and market-linked instruments to strengthen price discovery and power market architecture. It also provides for national and international knowledge exchange with key stakeholders across government, industry, finance, academia, and power market experts.
