Schneider Electric has partnered with BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) to deploy India’s first RM AirSeT 12 kV indoor ring main unit (RMU) integrated with the T300 field remote terminal unit (FRTU). The pilot replaces sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) gas with pure air insulation, enabling an estimated reduction of nearly 75 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions during the capital expenditure phase.
The deployment integrates the RMU with BRPL’s supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) network through the T300 FRTU, enabling remote monitoring and control. The project also marks the first deployment in India of RM AirSeT 12 kV indoor RMUs sourced from Schneider Electric’s global manufacturing facility, with FRTU integration carried out at its India plant.
