NGCP unveils TDP 2026-50 to support Philippine demand and renewables

 

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), the private concessionaire responsible for the country’s transmission network, has outlined an extensive expansion and modernisation programme through 2050 under its Transmission Development Plan (TDP) 2026-50.

The plan targets major 500 kV and 230 kV backbone developments, stronger inter-island connections, drawdown substations, energy storage, and digital technologies to support rising electricity demand and renewable energy integration.
