Sri Lanka’s National Transmission Network Services Provider (NTNSP), a government owned successor company of the Ceylon Electricity Board, has launched a USD328.25 million programme financed by the Asian Development Bank to strengthen the national transmission network and support renewable energy integration.
The Power System Strengthening and Renewable Energy Integration Project commenced on August 13, 2026, with construction of a 132/33 kV grid substation in Homagama. The project is being implemented jointly by NTNSP, National System Operator Private Limited, and Lanka Electricity Company.
