Transformers And Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) has secured its first order in the nuclear power sector for the supply of generator transformers for Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited’s (NPCIL) Kaiga Units 5 and 6 nuclear power project in Karnataka. The order has been received from Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited.
Kaiga Units 5 and 6 comprise two indigenous 700 MWe pressurised heavy water reactors being developed by NPCIL at Kaiga, Karnataka. The generator transformers will form part of the project’s electrical infrastructure. They will support the evacuation of power generated by the nuclear units and its integration with the transmission network.
