Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), a subsidiary of state utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN), has agreed with Thai Nguyen provincial authorities on an adjusted route for the 500 kV Hiep Hoa–Thai Nguyen transmission line to reduce impacts on industrial land, existing infrastructure, and protected areas.
The project involves an approximately 28.7-km, 500 kV D/C line connecting the 500 kV Hiep Hoa and Thai Nguyen substations, with about 1.2 km in Bac Ninh province and 27.5 km in Thai Nguyen province. It is expected to increase transmission capacity to meet rising electricity demand in Thai Nguyen and surrounding areas, strengthen regional connections, and support the safe and stable operation of the national grid.
