Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Nigeria’s state-owned transmission utility, has commissioned upgrades at four transmission substations in Lagos, adding 672 MW of transmission capacity to strengthen bulk power supply to the state’s distribution networks. The projects cover the Apapa Road, Ijora, Lekki and Alausa transmission substations, and are intended to reduce transmission constraints and improve electricity supply to industrial, commercial and residential customers. The Apapa Road project was funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, while the other three projects were funded by the World Bank.
