Waaree Transpower completes type testing of its 17.6 MVA, five-winding IDT at CPRI

Waaree Transpower, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, has completed the type testing of its 17.6 MVA, five-winding inverter duty transformer (IDT) at the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bhopal. This strengthens the company’s technical capabilities and positioning in the rapidly growing renewable energy and battery energy storage system (BESS) segments. The transformer underwent critical dynamic short-circuit, impulse and temperature rise tests, demonstrating its ability to meet demanding performance and reliability requirements for applications associated with renewable power generation and grid-connected energy systems. Waaree Transpower has also secured orders for more than 120 IDTs of ratings from 11 MVA to 20 MVA for solar, wind and BESS applications. IDTs play a critical role in renewable energy projects by facilitating the efficient integration of power generated through inverter-based systems into the electrical grid.
