Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has received a letter of intent to establish an inter-state transmission system for the project namely, “Transmission system for Integration of Power from RE Projects in Lakadia REZ in Gujarat-Phase II (7500MW)” on build, own, operate and transfer basis. POWERGRID secured the project under the tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) route by quoting annual transmission charges of Rs 11,524.9 million.
The project involves setting up a new 765/400 kV Lakadia-II substation in Gujarat. It also includes construction of 765 kV transmission lines and associated equipment and bays in the state. A synchronous condenser will also be installed and commissioned at the Lakadia-II substation.
