South Korea’s KEPCO enters final talks over stalled Dongseoul substation

Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), South Korea’s state-owned electric utility, has entered final-stage talks with the government and residents to resolve a permitting dispute that has stalled the Dongseoul substation project in Hanam, Gyeonggi province, for more than two years.

The consultative body will review site selection, and reassess noise, low-frequency waves, electromagnetic fields and heat impacts, before final negotiations and a written agreement.
