GE Vernova T&D India Limited has received an order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for the design and establishment of a 6,000 MW, ±800 kV high voltage direct current (HVDC) line-commutated converter terminal station. The station will comprise two 3,000 MW terminals.
The project will be developed to facilitate the evacuation of renewable power from Barmer-II in Rajasthan to South Kalamb. GE Vernova secured the order after emerging as the lowest bidder.
