The first phase of the MTerra Solar project has commenced commercial operations with a capacity of 600 MWac. The project began commercial operations in August 2026 under its power supply agreement with Meralco. The project is being jointly developed by MGEN and Actis, with Actis investing $600 million in the project. The project is expected to deliver 3,500 MWp of solar paired with 4,500 MWh of BESS upon completion.
Furthermore, this follows the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines’s issuance of the final certificate of approval to connect, clearing the project to operate 950 MWac of solar capacity and 825 MW of battery energy storage system capacity. An additional 250 MWac under the same agreement is expected to commence operations in the upcoming months.
