South Korea’s LS Electric and GE Vernova establish VSC-HVDC JV

LS Electric, a South Korean power equipment manufacturer, has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with global power infrastructure company GE Vernova to strengthen their competitiveness in the voltage-sourced converter-high voltage direct current (VSCHVDC) business and support South Korea’s next-generation grid.

The agreement was signed at Conseil International des Grands Réseaux Électriques 2026 in Paris, France, on August 25, 2026, establishing Grid X Technology as a JV. The companies will develop joint offerings and strategies for key equipment supply and HVDC project execution in South Korea’s VSCHVDC market.
