Hyosung T&D India Private Limited has secured an order for the Kakinada static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) project, which is described as India’s first utility-scale STATCOM application for a green hydrogen transmission scheme.
The STATCOM will support grid stability for green hydrogen production. Further, it will regulate voltage during rapid load changes and suppress harmonics generated by large electrolyser loads. The system will also provide fault ride-through capability and support compliance with grid codes, helping maintain reliable operation during grid disturbances.
