The Central Electricity Authority released a report of committee on Formulation of Trajectory of Indigenisation of SCADA System.
The report emphasizes SCADA as a critical component for monitoring and controlling generation, transmission and distribution of electricity in real time. Further, it recommends formal institutional framework to drive indigenization of SCADA system, its testing, development models and funding mechanisms to strengthen the grid management infrastructure.
The report also highlights implementation of pilot projects at SLDC/RLDC/NLDC for demonstration and real-time field testing and validation of indigenous SCADA/EMS software & hardware in consonance with existing systems to ascertain wider deployment.
