Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has received a letter of award worth Rs 1.79 billion from Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) for the supply of additional medium voltage and low voltage underground power cables for Mumbai’s distribution network.
The order covers approximately 871 km of cables. This includes 33 kV and 11 kV medium voltage cables as well as associated 1.1 kV low voltage cables. The cables are designed for Mumbai’s coastal and monsoon conditions. They feature tree-retardant cross-linked polyethylene insulation, water-blocked conductors, water-swellable tapes for longitudinal water blocking and a high-density polyethylene outer sheath for radial moisture protection. Deliveries will begin after manufacturing clearance at a scheduled rate of around 50 km per month, which may be increased based on project requirements.
