Jain Irrigation Systems Limited has received a letter of empanelment worth Rs 1.18 billion from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for 5,000 off-grid direct current solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra.
The empanelment has been awarded under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana, a Maharashtra government initiative for solar-powered irrigation. The scope of work includes the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning of the systems. The solar pumps will be supplied in 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP capacities. The project is scheduled for completion within 60 days.
