MoP approves amendments in guidelines for EV charging infrastructure

The Ministry of Power (MoP) has approved amendments in the guidelines and specifications for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The revised guidelines and specifications, which will supersede the earlier guidelines and standards issued by the ministry on December 14, 2018, are more consumer friendly as they incorporate a number of stakeholder suggestions. Under the amendments, phase-wise installation of a network of charging infrastructure has been envisaged to ensure that at least one charging station is available in a grid of 3 km x 3 km in the cities and one charging station at every 25 km on both sides of highways and roads.
