Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 9MWp on-campus solar plant with Tata Motors’ Pantnagar plant in Uttarakhand.
This solar facility, using both rooftop and ground-mounted units, aims to be the largest in the state. The project aligns with Tata Motors’ sustainability goals, aiming for a 25 tonnes reduction in CO2 per kWp emissions. The project will be commissioned within six months from the PPA signing. This partnership adds to a previous 7 MWp solar project at the Pantnagar manufacturing facility, making the total solar capacity at 16 MWp. The solar plants will generate annually 22.4 million units which will meet nearly 60 per cent of their annualised requirement. TPREL’s overall renewable capacity will reach 7,783 MW including 3,651 MW projects under various stages of implementation. The company’s operational capacity stands at 4,132 MW which includes 3,13 9MW solar and 993 MW from other sources.
