The Gujarat government has announced its Gujarat Renewable Energy Policy 2023, targeting a 50 per cent power generation from renewable sources by 2030.
The policy is anticipated to attract investments of nearly Rs 5 trillion in the renewable energy sector. It is projected to harness approximately 36 GW of solar and 143 GW of wind capacity. The policy encompasses various renewable energy initiatives, including ground-mounted solar, rooftop solar, floating solar, canal top solar, as well as wind, rooftop wind, and wind-solar hybrid projects. The operational duration of this policy extends until the introduction of a new policy or until 2028.
