Sabarmati multi-modal transit hub implements a 700 kWp rooftop solar plant using RESCO model

The Sabarmati Multi-Modal Transit Hub has  installed a 700 kWp rooftop solar power plant under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) mode in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

This initiative has resulted in substantial capital expenditure savings of Rs 27.3 million, which would have otherwise been spent on the rooftop solar plant installation. The solar plant is anticipated to generate around 1 million units of green energy annually, offering National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited significant savings with zero investment and maintenance costs for 25-year duration. The solar photovoltaic project, implemented under the RESCO mode, has been contracted at a rate of Rs 3.9 per unit for the next 25 years. This rate is significantly lower than the current discom rate of approximately Rs 11 per unit, emphasising the economic viability and enduring advantages of embracing renewable energy solutions.
