The Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with WindStream Energy Technologies India Private Limited to deploy hybrid wind-solar renewable energy solutions in remote, off-grid areas of the Philippines.
The hybrid wind-solar renewable energy system is known as SolarMill technology. SolarMill is a compact and modular clean energy solution, suitable for various locations, including isolated and rugged terrain. It integrates magnet generators and vertical-axis wind turbines with solar panels. This partnership is in line with the National Power Corporation’s hybridisation program for Small Power Utility Group areas, aiming to enhance off-grid communities’ access to sustainable energy through the combination of diesel-powered generating with solar and wind power
