Nesma Infrastructure and Technology, a leading Saudi Arabian company, recently secured a contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) for the construction of a new 380 kV substation in Riyadh.
The project, valued at approximately SAR915 million, aims to boost the city’s electricity grid, which is aligned with Riyadh’s rapid urban and industrial growth. According to the contract, the company will build two 380 kV substations, Rumah BSP-9077 A and B, alongside the installation of line reactors at the Airport North BSP-9089 and PS3 BSP substations. The initiative will strengthen the region’s high voltage transmission infrastructure and is scheduled for completion within 21 months. In addition to this project, Saudi Arabia is actively pursuing renewable energy initiatives under its Vision 2030 strategy, including the 300 MW Sakaka solar plant in Al Jouf and 400 MW Dumat Al Jandal wind farm
