China’s SGCC commissions 500 kV Bayue−Chenjiaqiao II transmission line

The State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) has commissioned the 500 kV Bayue−Chenjiaqiao II transmission line, also known as the Yuechen II line, in Chongqing.

The 55-km transmission line connects the 1,000 kV Bayue substation to the 500 kV Chenjiaqiao substation, enhancing Chongqing’s grid structure and facilitating the transmission of clean energy from Sichuan. This is the third outbound line from the Bayue substation, improving power supply to the city’s core and supporting the Chengdu−Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle. Construction began on October 19, 2023, involving the installation of 128 new towers.
