Cygni Energy has launched a fully-automated battery energy storage system (BESS) gigafactory with an annual production capacity of 4.8 GWh in Hyderabad.
The phase-I facility, located at E-Mobility Valley in the electronics manufacturing cluster at Maheshwaram, spans 160,000 sq. ft. and has been developed with an investment of over Rs 1 billion. The new plant will manufacture high-capacity battery packs for electric vehicles and grid-scale energy storage applications. Cygni has already secured an order pipeline of 1 GWh from BESS developers and automotive customers. The company aims to double its production capacity by 2027 under Phase-II, for which Rs 1.50 billion has been earmarked.
