Power generation grew at a CAGR of 5.74 per cent to reach 1,824 BUs in 2024-25 from 1,044 BUs in 2014-15. Thermal generation accounted for 74.77 per cent of total generation in 2024-25, renewables accounted for 13.98 per cent, hydro accounted for 8.15 per cent and nuclear accounted for 3.11 per cent.
The national plant load factor (PLF) of thermal power stations registered an increase from 64.5 per cent in 2014-15 to 69.5 per cent in 2024-25.
