Reportedly, Websol Energy System is planning to invest Rs 35.38 billion in an integrated 8 GW solar manufacturing facility at Naidupeta in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh.
The project will be developed over an area of about 120 acres and will be implemented in two phases, comprising 4 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity and 4 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity. To support low-cost and green manufacturing operations, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has facilitated land for a dedicated captive solar power plant spread over around 300 acres. In addition, Websol plans to set up a 100 MW captive solar power plant as part of the project to ensure energy security and operational efficiency.
