GE Vernova has plans to invest USD 200 million in a new facility in Hai Phong, Vietnam to manufacture large power transformers for high voltage direct current transmission projects. The plant is expected to commence operations in 2028 and will be one of the company’s three global high voltage direct current (HVDC) transformer manufacturing facilities, alongside its existing facilities in the UK and India. The investment forms part of GE Vernova’s broader manufacturing and research programme and is aimed at supporting rising electricity demand and grid infrastructure requirements in Vietnam and other markets.
