Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has awarded its 375 MW/1,500 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) tender to KCC Buildcon Private Limited, Agastya Energy Industries Private Limited and MKC Infrastructure Limited.
The 15-year tender was issued in September 2025 under viability gap funding tranche II, is for a four-hour, one-cycle BESS and has been awarded at tariffs ranging from Rs 6.45 per kWh to Rs 6.46 per kWh. Developers will be required to arrange charging power from renewable energy sources and design the system to provide up to four hours of discharge capacity.
