State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), China’s state-owned power utility, has secured approval from the Jiangxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission for the 1,000 kV Ganjiang–Gannan ultra-high voltage (UHV) AC transmission and transformation project. The scheme is the first UHVAC project approved in Central China during the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period. The project, with a total investment of CNY7.218 billion, involves the construction of a new 1,000 kV Gannan substation equipped with 2×3,000 MVA transformer capacity, along with a new D/C 1,000 kV UHVAC transmission line from Ganjiang to Gannan, with a line length of 298.9 km, passing through 4 cities and 9 counties in Nanchang, Fuzhou,
