Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC), the country’s electricity transmission company, has been allocated almost EGP37 billion for investments in fiscal year 2026-2027 to upgrade and expand the national electricity transmission network, and increase its capacity to accommodate new power generation, including renewable energy projects.
Of the planned investment, 46 per cent will be directed towards completing existing projects, while 54.04 per cent will fund new projects, replacement programmes, and regional control centres. EETC is also increasing transformer-substation capacity and expanding extra-high- and high-voltage transmission lines and cables in coordination with Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and electricity distribution companies.
