EEHC (Egypt) to borrow EGP 10 billion to finance expansion plans

State-owned Egyptian Electricity Holding Company EEHC has proposed to borrow EGP 10 billion from the banking sector to finance its expansion plans in the fields of transmission and distribution. The company is likely to approach the National Bank of Egypt and Egyptian bank Banque Misr to arrange a syndicated loan to meet the requirements of the first phase of transmission and distribution projects, estimated to cost EGP 37 billion (EGP 18 billion for transmission networks and EGP 19 billion for the distribution segment).
