Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) has completed the construction of a coal gasification furnace plant at Nagasaki in Japan. The plant will supply core facilities for integrated coal gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plants. Currently, a furnace is being manufactured at this new facility for use in a 540 MW IGCC plant in Iwaki, Fukushima, which is currently being constructed by Nakoso IGCC Power GK. With the completion of the Nagasaki facility, MHPS can now create a fully integrated production system for IGCC plants.
