The Uttarakhand Cabinet has approved the procurement of 1,320 MW of coal-based power by Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) from Adani Power Limited at a tariff of Rs 5.746 per unit for 25 years. Adani Power emerged as the lowest bidder for the procurement, which is aimed at ensuring energy security and reliable base-load power supply in the state.
The Cabinet has also authorised UPCL to sign the power supply agreement and other related documents with Adani Power, fulfil the necessary contractual conditions and obtain statutory approvals from the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission.
