Siemens and GECOL signs a €700 million contract for setting power plants in Libya

Siemens has signed a Euro 700 million EPC contract with the state-owned General Electricity Company of Libya for setting up power generation plants with an aggregate capacity of 1.3 GW in Libya. Under the contract, Siemens will be responsible for the construction of two plants – a 650 MW open cycle power plant in Misrata and a 690 MW open cycle power plant in Tripoli West. As part of the contract, which includes long-term service agreements, Siemens will provide critical services related to maintenance and upgradation of the power plants.
