Danish engineering and contracting company Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor (BWSC), in consortium with German manufacturer MAN Diesel and Turbo (MDT), has won a Euro 125 million contract to construct a 120 MW oil- and gas-fired power plant in Benin. The turnkey power plant will entail the construction of a new power station, which will include seven MDT dual-fuel engines and all related infrastructure. The consortium is expected to deliver the project within a period of 18 months from the award of the contract. The new power plant is expected to meet the electricity consumption of nearly 300,000 households.
