Egypt plans to invest up to $ 4 billion in green hydrogen project

Egypt is planning to invest up to $ 4 billion in a project to generate green hydrogen via electrolysis.

Presently, feasibility studies are underway for the projectin consultation with the Sovereign Fund of Egypt and a group of concerned ministries. Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has set a target to source42 per cent of the total energy produced in Egypt from renewable energyby 2035 and 20 per cent by the end of this 2021. Egypt also has one of the largest solar power plants in the world, the Benban solar park of 1,465 MW capacity.
