Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan enter into energy agreement

Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan have signed an energy cooperation agreement at a meeting in Riyadh.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) encompasses a wide range of areas within the energy industry including petroleum, gas, electricity, renewable energy, clean hydrogen, energy efficiency and storage, aiming to foster collaboration between the two nations. Furthermore, the deal also addresses cooperation in the critical field of circular carbon economy and its associated technologies, with a shared objective of mitigating climate change effects. In addition to broadening cooperation across various energy sectors, the MoU emphasises the establishment of strategic partnerships for localising materials, products, and services related to energy. This collaboration will facilitate the advancement of innovative applications of hydrocarbons in different sectors. Furthermore, the agreement outlines joint efforts in digital transformation, innovation, cyber security, and artificial intelligence.
