South Korea’s Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) has signed a significant business agreement with Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeollanam-do Province, at its Naju headquarters.
This agreement focuses on expanding renewable energy production and distribution in the Honam region and modernising the power grid to facilitate this growth. The partnership seeks to ensure the smooth integration of renewable energy sources into the grid in the Honam area, which is projected to reach around 42 GW by the end of 2031. The agreement emphasises the need for timely national power grid construction, which requires collaboration among local governments throughout the project lifecycle.
