India and Sri Lanka have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to jointly develop a 120 MW solar power project in Sampur, located in Sri Lanka’s Trincomalee district.
Additionaly, an MoU was signed for the implementation of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) interconnection between India and Sri Lanka to facilitate the import and export of power.
Another MoU was signed for the supply and installation of rooftop solar systems at 500 religious institutions across Sri Lanka.
