Adani Power secures PPA to supply 1,500 MW to UPPCL for 25 years

Adani Power Limited has secured a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) to supply 1,500 MW of thermal power for a period of 25 years at a levellised tariff of Rs 5.383 per kWh.

The PPA was approved by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet and follows a competitive tender issued in October 2024 to procure power from a proposed 2×800 MW (1,600 MW) thermal power plant in the state. Adani Power emerged as the lowest bidder, quoting Rs 3.727 per unit as fixed charges and Rs 1.656 per unit as fuel charges. The power will be supplied from a new thermal plant to be developed in Uttar Pradesh and is expected to help meet the state’s projected additional electricity demand of 10,795 MW by 2033-34.
