Ministry of Heavy Industries launches incentive scheme for electric trucks under PM E-DRIVE

The Ministry of Heavy Industries has launched a dedicated incentive scheme under the PM E-DRIVE initiative to promote adoption of electric trucks in the country.

The scheme offers upfront incentives of up to Rs 960,000 per vehicle in the N2 and N3 categories and targets the deployment of 5,600 electric trucks nationwide. A specific quota of 1,100 vehicles has been earmarked for Delhi supported by an allocation of Rs 1 billion. The incentives will be disbursed to original equipment manufacturers on a first-come, first-served basis through the PM E-DRIVE portal. Eligibility conditions include mandatory scrapping of old diesel trucks and provision of warranty coverage for five years for batteries and five years or 250,000 km for vehicle and motor components.
