Hinduja Renewables to invest USD 4 billion to scale RE capacity to 10 GW

Reportedly, Hinduja Renewables Energy is set to invest USD 4 billion to scale its renewable energy (RE) capacity to 10 GW.

The expansion strategy will focus on diversifying beyond solar into wind power, solar–wind hybrid projects and energy storage to meet India’s growing demand for round-the-clock renewable power. The company is developing its first solar–wind hybrid project in western Gujarat and is identifying multiple wind sites, with plans to co-locate wind and solar assets to optimise evacuation infrastructure and improve deviation settlement mechanism management. In parallel, Hinduja Renewables is pursuing both battery energy storage systems and pumped hydro storage projects. It has signed memoranda of understanding and letters of intent for about 11 GW of pumped storage capacity across Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Uttarakhand, with detailed project reports underway for initial projects. The company also plans to strengthen digitalisation, engineering, procurement and construction, and operations and maintenance capabilities as part of its next phase of growth.
