Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), through its Energy CarbonLite Solutions business, has secured a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) from NTPC Limited for the main plant package of the 2×800 MW Lara Stage-III thermal power project in Chhattisgarh. The contract, valued between Rs 100 billion and Rs 150 billion, will proceed after the project receives environmental clearance and the LNTP period is completed.
The project involves the construction of two 800 MW ultra-supercritical generating units. The scope of work entails the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of the boilers, steam turbines, generators, electrostatic precipitators, and air-cooled condensers. L&T will also execute the associated mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation, and civil works.
