GUVNL announces results of 450 MW/900 MWh standalone BESS auction

Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) has announced the results of its Phase IX tender for 450 MW/900 MWh of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Gujarat. NLC India Renewables Limited secured a capacity of 275 MW at a tariff of Rs 231,989 per MW per month. Sun Drops Energia Limited secured 175 MW at a tariff of Rs 231,990 per MW per month.

The projects will be developed on a build-own-operate basis and will provide on-demand energy storage services to GUVNL. GUVNL will sign battery energy storage purchase agreements with the successful bidders, with the projects eligible for viability gap funding under the power system development fund scheme.
