Electricité du Liban plans to establish 220 kV transmission network in Lebanon

State-owned Electricité du Liban (EDL) is planning to establish a 220 kV transmission network in Sidon, Lebanon. The project is part of the Lebanon government’s programme to increase the supply of electricity in the city. EDL is also constructing a main relay station under this initiative, which will supply 140 MVA to Sidon and its outskirts. Work on the new power station and the 220 kV network is likely to be completed by 2018.
